Impact of COVID-19 on young refugees and forcibly displaced youth in Uganda
This impressive video highlights the voices of refugee and host community youth in the ILO PROSPECTS partnership target districts of Arua, Madi Okollo and Isingiro in Uganda. It shows the impacts of COVID-19 on young people, what actions they are taking to mitigate the fallout from the crisis, and how the ILO is supporting recovery efforts in the country.
The ILO PROSPECTS partnership- supported by the Global Initiative on Decent Jobs- spoke to young refugees and host community youth in Uganda on the impacts of COVID-19 on their education, employment and lives.
By showcasing the extreme vulnerabilities of these youth in the face of COVID-19 and their indomitable spirit in the face of adversity, it is a call to action for an inclusive recovery as we build back better from the crisis.
